Welcome to our first Children’s Literature Festivals Book Awards

 Primary age children from ten schools in less privileged areas will be introduced to authors and illustrators through a variety of book titles to help explore and inspire a love of reading. We will be involving ten libraries to help the children decide what books they enjoyed the most and why.  We will be encouraging children to read aloud some excerpts of the stories for us to post to help share the love of reading aloud and together.

 We will have a Teachers Choice Award in collaboration with our Ambassadors.

 Timeline  

 Publishers are invited to submit copies of their chosen titles (20 copies of each) published from 1st October 2021 to 1st October 2022. The books will be sent to the chosen primary schools and libraries for the children to read and provide feedback by 15th April 2023. The top ten books and winning titles per category will be published online on 15th May, Children’s day in the UK.

 ***Deadline for submissions; 16th September 2022. Maximum of five titles per publisher for each category. All authors must live in the UK.***

  The Prizes

 Each winning author/Illustrator will receive a trophy and be invited to visit one of the participating  primary schools or libraries for a funded visit drawn from our prize draw. 

 The Judges 

 Primary age children will be judging with an additional Teachers Award.

 Please list: Title,  Author,  Illustrator , Category, Date Published : Traditionally published books must be submitted by publishers who will be requested to provide ten copies for each school and library.

 Publishers of Independently published books – will be requested to provide one copy and we will contact you for further copies should your book be entered into the competition.   We have sponsorship packages available, please  contact us via email.
